Trish's Rockin' Horses

Therapeutic Riding Centre

Coach Profile

I initially worked as a groom in a variety of yards, including polo, hunting and show jumping before working in administration.  For the past twelve years, I have been supporting individuals with disabilities and currently I work as a care worker supporting individuals with an intellectual disability.  During this time, I have gained much experience and I have supported many individuals diagnosed under the Autism Spectrum Disorder Umbrella.  Between 2008 and 2014, I completed the B.A. (ordinary) and B.A. (Honours) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care.  I qualified as a Therapeutic Riding Coach in July 2013 and achieved an M.A. in Social Studies in January 2014 . The intensive year long Riding Coach programme equips graduates with the skills to facilitate therapeutic riding sessions.  The theoretical background of therapeutic riding is based on connections, namely the human-equine bond, our connection with nature and working harmoniously within these connections.

I hope you can find everything you need on this website - it is definitely a work in progress., nonetheless Trish's Rockin' Horses is focused on providing high-quality person-centred one to one coaching in therapeutic horse riding.   Trish's Rockin' Horses also provides supported horse riding for individuals who have limited (or no) upper body strength and acquired an Independence Saddle from the US during the summer of 2017 which enables the rider to feel the true freedom of being on the back of a horse.  Therapeutic horse riding can also provide individuals who are stressed with a relaxing therapy - why not hand over the reins at the end of a busy week and enjoy the experience.
